How to Download and Use Dinosaur Coloring Pages

There are two simple ways to enjoy our dinosaur coloring pages. You can either color them digitally right on your device or print them out for a more classic, hands-on experience.

Digital Coloring:

Download the page you want as a high-quality image (JPG/PNG) or open the PDF.

1. Transfer it to your device,  such as a tablet, iPad, or touchscreen laptop, for best results.
2. Open the file in a drawing or coloring app (Procreate, Sketchbook, MicrosoftPaint, or any free coloring app).
3. Select a digital brush or coloring tool. Many apps even have “fill” options to instantly color large areas.
4. Zoom in to work on small details, such as scales, teeth, or backgrounds.
5. Try layering colors or using textures to make your dinosaur stand out — digital tools let you experiment without worrying about mistakes.
6. Save your progress so you can come back later, or export a finished version to share with family and friends.
7. Print it out afterward if you’d like to keep a physical copy or display it.

Extra tip: Digital coloring is a fun, mess-free way to experiment, but it’s best in moderation. Too much screen time can tire kids’ eyes, so try mixing it with printed pages for a healthy balance. This way, they enjoy both creativity on-screen and hands-on coloring at the table.

Printing and Coloring by Hand:

1. Download the file you want (single-page image, PDF, or the full ZIP).
2. Open the PDF or image on your computer/tablet (Preview, Adobe Reader, or your default image viewer).
3. Decide which pages to print (one sheet at a time or a few for a session).
4. Click Print and select the paper size (Letter for the US, A4 for most other countries).
5. Set the orientation (portrait is usually the right choice for single sheets).
6. Set the scale to ‘Fit to page‘ or 100% if you want an exact size; use whichever option keeps the entire image within the printable area.
7. Select ‘High/Best‘ print quality for more precise lines and colors.
8. If you plan to use markers, load heavier paper or cardstock (120–180 gsm) to prevent bleed-through.
9. Print a quick test page on plain paper to verify size, alignment, and color accuracy.
10. Adjust settings if needed, then print the final copies.
11. Let the ink dry for a few seconds before handing the page to kids to avoid smudges.
12. Place a scrap sheet under the page while coloring to protect the tabletop from any bleed.

Tip: Markers offer bold, bright colors and are ideal for young children. However, use washable, non-toxic markers and thicker paper or cardstock to prevent colors from bleeding through. For finer details, combine a fine-tip marker or colored pencil with thicker marker fills to get crisp lines without mess.
